Nantucket Table - Getting Ready for Lobster Season

My daughter, Ginger, has recently become certified to scuba dive.  She plans to take advantage of lobster season in Florida coming very soon.

So I decided to get the table ready in anticipation for the lobsters she plans to "tickle" out of their hiding places.
I had been eyeing these plates from Certified International, and when I  received a discount coupon from Overstock.com - I decided it was time to order them.

Spring has sprung!

Spring has officially begun, although it feels more like summer.  Temperatures in the high 80s with humidity to match, it seems that we skipped springtime weather.

I did get my door decorated, so maybe I can convince myself that it is still spring. I just love rabbits...can you tell?  I actually have a room with a rabbit theme.

There is something innocent about the eyes of a bunny, don't you think?

I was hoping to be able to post pictures of the porch update...

Life is what happens when you have something else planned, so... that will have to wait.  I am still waiting on the painter to finish painting the ceiling.  I hope that old adage "good things come to those who wait" will come true this time.

Daddy and Mommy with Briggs

Today was the birthday party for Briggs - he is turning two.

Kaci did a wonderful job hosting his party with a farm theme. The menu included pulled pork, barbecued chicken, baby back ribs, and some fabulous side dishes.
There were baby ducks and chicks for the guests to enjoy.

Get busy living!

As the great John Wooden once said…”Do not let making a living prevent you from making a life.”  Brilliant.

Life always gets in the way of what we plan to do, whether it is the necessary things we need to do...or the fun things we would like to do.  Striking a balance is the difficult part of daily life.  I need to clean my closets, but I would rather stencil the fence and hang my new pot latches and lanterns.  Ah - decisions, decisions.

I am so pleased with my new bathroom countertops and I planning to do the kitchen countertops over the President's Day long weekend.  Hopefully, they will turn out just the way the directions say they will

Happy New Year! Let's welcome 2012 with "Strength for today and HOPE for tomorrow."

2012 - It sounds strange...maybe like the title of a movie by the same name.
Yet there is HOPE for all who believe in the magnificence of our Heavenly Father's love for His children.  "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over me"...and mine...and yours.

This yummy recipe, affectionately named Cutie Pies, comes from a wonderful blog known as StoneGable.  The lovely lady responsible for that blog has stopped blogging to follow her first love as a Bible teacher.  Her recipes will remain around for a while, and this is one I enjoyed making.
