It is Christmas Time - What a wonderful time of the year!

It is the most wonderful time of the year - the time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the only Son of God.  Without Christmas, there would be no Easter, no plan of salvation, only the laws of the Old Testament.  I can't imagine a day going by without the benefit of Christ making intercession before the Throne of God -for ME.  He is my friend, my Savior, my Soon-Coming-King!  Happy Birthday, Jesus.  You are "the reason for the season".

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I do believe that we gave Thanksgiving Day the respect that the occassion deserves.  We enjoyed a wonderful meal with about 25 family members here at our house.  We are so blessed and I do want to always give thanks for even the simplest of blessings.  I hope your day was filled with good food and special friends and family.

Christmas Music and 86 Degrees

It is a little bit difficult to really "feel a lot like Christmas", or even be "dreaming of a white Christmas" when it is 86 degrees outside.  To make matters worse, some of my Facebook friends are posting that it is snowing.  It guess we just have to buckle down and make Christmas an attitude of the heart.
We got the front door garland for Thanksgiving finished this weekend, and I do think it looks festive.  It is not unusual for us to have hot weather at Thanksgiving, though...and that is just around the corner.  Perhaps I should be thankful for a warm climate, but fall is my favorite time of the year.  We used two colors of Deco Mesh for the base and added all kinds of fall goodies.  What do you think?

It is a Thanksgiving time of the year!

It seems like we hurry over Thanksgiving to get ready for the "big" day - Christmas.  I believe that we are missing out on the overall theme of Thanksgiving - being grateful to Almighty God for allowing us to survive the past year.  I want to take time to let Him know how thankful I am for His bountiful blessings, no matter the size of the blessing.
